Backyard Wildlife

We had a gorgeous brilliant blue peacock strutting through backyard this morning. It strolled across our lawn into our neighbor's yard. I called them to look out their window as it meandered into their driveway and down Mowry Street.
Over the years we've had a myriad of animals, not ours, in our yard, starting with the first year that we lived here to see a monkey swinging from the clothesline of the across-the-street neighbor. We've had many cows back when there were actually dairy farms in our town. They would periodically escape from their pastures to find greener grass in our gardens. A quick call to the owners would have them rounded up and driven back into their home turf. In the case of the peacock and monkey, and for those of you not familiar with our location, we live about 1 mile (as the crow flies) from the largest zoo in New England.
