Celtic Festival

Lynn, Isak, Luigi and I went to Webster Indian Ranch to a Celtic Festival yesterday. We watched step-dancers, folk singers, and harp players. There were multitudes of vendors selling jewelry, clothing and souvenirs, and one could take classes in bagpipe playing, reels and jigs and harp playing. This is an annual event, but formerly held at the King Farm in Sutton. I had taken Adriana to the Festival in Sutton a couple of years ago. I have enjoyed it both times.
Last Tuesday, Luigi and I went to Boston via train from Franklin. We stopped at Ruggles/Northeastern University. We walked around the campus and talked with folks in several offices. Luigi is interested in persuing a Masters in English program and needed information about programs available. I was impressed with Northeastern...it's a beautiful contained campus, many new buildings, gardens, etc. It's now a comprehensive university.
Anyway, we then took the subway to Boston University where we did the same thing...talked with folks in some offices and toured a part of the 'campus'. Then we walked along Newbury Street, stopped for lunch, continued along the street looking in shop windows and watching diners at all the sidewalk cafes. Then, onto Copley Place for some picture taking. Then continued to Back Bay Station for the train ride home. We left Mendon at 7:30 a.m. and returned to Mendon at 4:30 p.m. A great day with perfect weather. Luigi learned that he must go home on August 28 and make new plans...maybe for a return visit with a student visa this time.
On Aug 11 we go to NYC for a day trip to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty, then on Aug 23, Luigi and Dad will fly to Toronto for a 4-day visit. More on this later.
