LET-DOWN

It's major letdown this week, after a wonderful, but all too short, visit from our NC family (sans Sarah). I get far too few mom/daughter sessions with Beth, it's been that way for far too long. However, I cherish even the few short times with her and her wonderful family. I am very fortunate to consider my daughters as 'best friends' and to be sooooo proud of all they have accomplished. My boys, too, are sources of bursting pride and hold a special spot in my heart. Tony and I consider ourselves to be Blessed with 4 wonderful children who have given us 3 fantastic in-laws and 8 fabulous grandchildren. How much better does it get?????

New England presented the southerners with 70+ temps and dry sunny days for the 7 days that they were here. The yard was a flurry of activity with horseshoes, bocce, badminton and swings in full use. Now, the house is creakingly quiet, laundry (mostly towels and bedsheets) is slowly getting done, larder has been re-stocked, and I miss the activity. I find it much harder to cook for 2 or 3 than for 12-22.

So, with heat returning (90+ this week), I'm holed up in the AC'd sewing/computer room. Time to get some more chef's hats sewn.
