Sisters

My sisters and I spent a lovely day together yesterday. We drove to Acton arriving around 9 am. Spent some time with 'show-'n-tell' of a few sewing projects during the winter, had a couple of 'make-and-take' projects (cell phone bags and microwaveable corn bags), visited a quilt shop in Concord, had a lunch of homemade butternut squash soup, salad, hot rolls and tea. Then a little more sewing talk before heading home. It was good to see each other as the fierce weather has prevented us from at least 3 other planned get-togethers this winter.

Our winter is fading. The sun is stronger, days longer, and melting has begun. Along with this is the proverbial and inevitable frost heaves in the roads. It seems that they are worse than ever this year...big pot holes hidden by the melted snow makes traveling hazardous. With town/state budgets in the red, I suspect that road repairs will be only a dream this spring and summer.

I'm struggling with Skype on our computer, again. Because connections have been poor lately, I suspected that Skype may have an upgraded version on their web site (hopefully taking care of bugs). So I downloaded the most recent version. Now Skype doesn't find our camera. We can connect and can see the other person, but they cannot see us. Arghhhh!

Military news in the family...Alex is in Kuwait, moving on to Iraq in a few days. He reports his first sandstorm. Bill Lee has orders for Iraq...this summer. Cody Peterson has been notified of his appointment to West Point. They are all in our prayers.
