Our last month has been one of deep sorrow, with the passing of David Lee, my sister Susan's husband. I have been fortunate to live close enough to offer some companionship, and hopefully, comfort, during the worst days. Bob and Bill have been amazingly on top of things, and a great help to Sue. Together, the 3 of them planned a very comforting Celebration of Life, including a private family graveside service and a public Memorial Service at the Methodist church. Because David had been Chief of Cemeteries, Parks and Recreation sites, the graveside service included the men and equipment with whom he worked. This was a very touching ceremony.
Sue jumped right back into her activities by conducting her English Handbell Choir at a Tuesday night rehearsal and the Maundy Thursday church service. She'll start down the slope of reality after the rush of Easter activities is over.
We have Adriana for the week...vacation week. She's at "Camp Grandpa's". She brought her bunny with her, and tomorrow her mom will bring her violin and bicycle. With the additions of contents of Easter basket (jumprope, frisbee, hula-hoop, bubble wand, craft supplies) and neighbor children with whom she plays, she'll have much to keep her busy. I know this week will pass all too quickly.
Our Easter day included dinner with Steve, David, Christina and, of course, Adriana. Morning was cold for the Easter Egg Hunt but it was fun all the same.
