Time flying!

This has been an incredibly fast 2 weeks...full of rehearsals, senior activities, cleaning and packing. Giulia leaves us in just 1 1/2 weeks (16th) with a year's worth of amazing memories. Just this week, another first...Interfaith service for seniors, with cap and gown regalia (they don't do caps and gowns in Italy, either), Senior Awards Day where she was recognized for passing all the requirements for a NRHS diploma, unusual for most exchange students who are studying in a language other than their own. She was able to maintain Honor Roll status all year.
Thursday night, the Seniors and their families celebrated with a banquet at Wright's Farm, followed by dancing for the teens (parents left). Today, she is visiting with Domenico's Venezuelan family who arrived last night from Caracus to surprise him. We met them today...delightful family! Tomorrow is GRADUATION. We'll have a family cookout in the afternoon, so today I'm baking and roasting (potatoes, lasagna, baked beans, potato salad all are being done a day ahead.
Lots of crying at the prospect of leaving so many new friends, but another chapter of her life awaits her. Flight home is June 16.

Wow, that went by so fast. I'm really sorry we couldn't manage a trip up there before she left. Amanda especially would have liked that. Give Giulia our love and congratulations!
Lighthouse Graduation is tomorrow too. Amanda is a Junior Marshall and I'm helping with the reception. Next year, our turn again.
