I thought that folks would be curious enough about this blog's name to warrant an explanation. We live in an old farmhouse (40+ yrs) that was part of a larger acreage, now small lots of big houses. The original name of this farm was "Golden Rod Farm"; we found the name on an old bottle cap in the walls when doing some renovations about 25 years ago. Consequently, we've semi-adopted the name and have used it on occasion. This is one occasion.
The second name to warrant an explanation is "Gramma Jelly". This is a name given to me by a grandson, to help him keep his two grammas separate. The other is "Gramma Bread". He just happens to love the homemade jellies that I put up every summer, thus the name. (Hey, it's jelly season, again!). In fact, I'll pack up a carton of jellies for him to take off to college this fall. He can get a re-fill next summer.
We're having a HHH New England day...mid 90s. I can feel the sweat rolling down my face while just sitting here ... and that's with AC. Until today, we've been blessed with cool 70 degree days for the past month. I did put in an order for those to remain for the duration of the summer, but something went wrong with my request. Oh, well! We'll survive for the 2-days that have been forecast. Supposed to be back to 70s for weekend.
