Aprons

My sewing machine has been hard at work this week. First of all, I had bought plain grey sweatshirts and sweatpants for Nena and myself (Nena is having a hard time finding warm clothes). I embroidered some glitzy flowers on Nena's set and added some crystal embellishments. She liked them, and commented that she'll enjoy curling up on a cold night with them on. I've still got to decorate my own...think it'll be Cardinals in the Snow.
I've made 5 cute aprons this week from coffee and pastry prints for the cafe. The first was made at a request from one of the staff...she'd been having trouble keeping her clothes clean with all the coffee, chocolate frostings, etc. I did one and gave it to her last week. Then, while she was out, other staff began to wear it and liked it (including Chris)...threatening not to give it back to Teresa when she returned. So I just did 4 more and will deliver them later this week.

Another creation from the sewing room last night is a Trick or Treat bag for "you-know-who". Now, it's on to re-arranging my sewing space...actually moving it into the larger room. If I want to get any serious Christmas sewing done, I'll have to have a more efficient space.
The other task that has been keeping me busy this week is getting the computer station up and running again. I had bought a USB-hub, and after re-cabling all of the equipment, I discovered that much of it can't be seen by it's own software. The strange thing is that when I place the digital camera on the dock, it starts loading the pictures, so I'm sure that the connection is OK. I did get a powered USB hub, so that shouldn't be the problem, either. Short of re-connecting all to the primary ports (that involves un-plugging and re-plugging all the time), I'm determined to solve this! ! ! (I have 7 periferals that all want the USB connection, 2 require primary ports. ).
I've put away the jelly-making equipment...think that's over for this fall. The shelves are loaded with jellies, jams and conserves.
Our weather continues to be delightful, although dry. We haven't seen any rain for about 2 months. The temps this week are in low-mid 80s, forecast to go to 70s for Sunday-Wednesday. This is extremely warm for October. We're still wearing summer togs. Steve thinks that we may miss 'fall' altogether, and crash into winter all at once. Hope it's not that sudden.

Hey, if you have any extra aprons, you could send a couple this way!
