Snow Day

We're getting a 'real' snow day...that fine blowing snow, accumulating at the rate of 1 inch/hour. Schools, businesses and government offices have closed early, expecting the worst road conditions to be around the regular afternoon commute time. Dad and I went to Putnam early this morning to do our weekly baking, and left at about 12:30 (with Adriana) to come back. The roads were already getting bad and even though we followed a sander/plow through most of Douglas, and did Rt 16 all the rest of the way home, there was an enormous sigh of relief when we drove into the driveway. There is already (at 2:30) about 6 inches on the ground and predictions are for snow all night long. We're home, now the snow can come.
Adriana immediately dressed in snow-play clothes and is out with the neighbors sliding on the hill. It didn't take the kids long to locate the sleds and get going. (Pic is of "A" trudging back home after sliding with neighbors...note snowflakes on camera lens...not a good thing)
This is only the beginning. We're watching forecasts closely for another big Nor'easter/Snow storm is expected Saturday night into Sunday and we're scheduled to fly out of Providence at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Fortunately, we have a little flexibility here as Alex's graduation isn't until Wednesday. Stay tuned.
But, it's sooooo pretty!~

How pretty! We sure could use some of that moisture. Raleigh is down to about 90 days of water left. Glad you got behind a plow on your way back to Mendon. We'll be praying that you can get out on Sunday or Monday, if necessary!
