Today was our usual baking day in Putnam. We were delighted to see that work has begun on the patio in the front. The word is that it should take about 1 week to finish, providing that weather cooperates. There will be flower planters and umbrella tables there soon, a European touch that will add an elegant dimension to this street. David and Chris have some lanterns to intersperse throughout the table arrangements that will certainly be lovely in the evening.
My Quilt Guild's bi-annual Quilt Show is this weekend. There are to be more than 200 quilts, a Boxing Ring display of boxer shorts, embellished with all sorts of crazy crystals, embroidery, buttons, etc., that is a fund raiser for Prostate Cancer research, and other mini-exhibits of journal quilts, challenge quilts, Round Robins, Slice Houses, etc. Our "Boutique" is featuring a variety of quilted and sewn items, along with Adriana's Doggie Biscotti (an addendum to some doggie assessories). She's excited...another source of $ and she has mentally spent it already.
It's SPRING! Temps near 60 today (but snow tomorrow night). Croci are blooming, pussywillows popping, forsythia buds swelling, song birds have returned, ice has 'gone out' on the lakes...ahhhh!

Keep a book on the table by the front window for me, and I'll take my coffee dark and sweet.
