We've just finished a very busy weekend, with Tony's birthday on Saturday and Mother's Day yesterday. First of all, Adriana returned with us on Thursday to prepare for Papa's birthday party. She and I went to I-Party where she selected paper goods and accessories to decorate the porch. We then baked a cake and cleaned the porch before she ran off to play with the neighbors.
On Saturday, we frosted the cake and made other little goodies before Uncle Steve, her parents and our neighbors joined us for cake and ice-cream. She was in seventh heaven acting as hostess.
On Mother's Day morning, we attended a neighborhood brunch hosted by Robin and Larry. She had a delicious spread of eggs, casseroles, bacon, fruit bowls, bagels and donuts, coffee, tea and mimosas. There were over a dozen folks there, re-unitiing after a long isolated winter.
In the afternoon, we had our own cookout. The weather was perfect...sunny and low 70s. Chidren played badminton, decorated the driveway with chalk-drawings, swung on tree swing and space trolley, and raced back and forth between yards. All in all, a fine day. Happy Mother's Day 2008 to all!
