Happy Thanksgiving!

I just glanced at my last blog entry to discover that it's been more than 2 weeks...ouch! First of all, to everyone, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Now, to catch up.

I've been entrenched in the sewing room creating Christmas presents for the past few weeks. On last Thursday, my sisters and I gathered, with full armament, at the Cape House to continue this quest. We spent 3 days with only the interruptions that we ourselves sponsored, chatting and sewing and sharing tips. I came home on Sunday with 3 more projects completed. Ginger wants to repeat the gathering in January...she enjoyed the houseful of company.

On Sunday night, Adriana accompanied me to Acton so that I could fill in for a ringer during an Ecumenical Thanksgiving service at Sue's church. Since the event ran into the later hours, we both stayed overnight at Sue's, and returned to Mendon on Monday morning. Adriana was a delightful companion, sat quietly during both the rehearsal and service. In the morning, she amazed me by packing the suitcase and making the beds before coming out to breakfast. When we got back to Mendon, she and I baked doggie treats (bones) that she's planning to package up and sell at the cafe. She is so grown-up at times that it scares me. Where's the little girl????
Chris picked up Adriana later in the morning so that she could continue with various weekly lessons.

Today, we had 8 at the dinner table. The usual traditional feast filled everyone so that we all had to wait a bit before cutting into the pies. I've packed away the left-overs, froze some individual portions, and am ready to start the next holiday baking. It was good to see Isak. He traveled home from UMaine by bus to Boston, then train to Franklin. He'll return on Sunday for 4 more weeks, then winter break.

Our weather is still mild. It was 60 today, although the forecasters predict cooler air to come in over the next 3 days. Still sunny, though. We did have a flurry on Tuesday, enough to cause some disruptions in the commutes as drivers had to quickly re-access their driving skills. There were a few fender-benders reported in the newspapers.

We have a new LLBean store in Mansfield...hurray! Dad and I checked it out last week. He got some new shoes and a sweater to replace some well-worn relics.

I think that summarizes my past 2 weeks. Till later....

Glad to see a new post! I talked to Dad last weekend while you were away sewing. Glad it was a fun and productive weekend for you three. We had a fun thanksgiving, and of course I am enjoying the full house this week. Will post some pictures soon, as soon as I get some new batteries for the camera!
Love
