Baking Day

Dad and I just returned after a long day of baking. Long because we took a mid-session break to go to lunch with the Andersons. Then returned to finish up and clean the kitchen. We baked 5 kinds of biscotti (Anise, Almond, Cranberry-Walnut, Cappuccino-Chip, and Chocolate-Almond) and pizzelles. The kitchen smells wafted upstairs and several comments were made about the aroma when we ventured upstairs to pick up some essential ingredient (double-espresso for biscotti, for instance). There should be some way to save these scents to distribute periodically.

The girls arrived mid-morning with a "Happy Birthday" message and a gift. They had picked out a lovely "Grandmother's bracelet" that will go nicely with my anticipated Christmas jacket (if I get it finished in time).

Before leaving Putnam, we checked in on the new cafe to see progress. Almost ready for me to take another picture...if I took one today, it wouldn't look significantly different from one posted several weeks ago. However, David is tiling today, the railings are going up, and electrician is finishing up last-minute connections. Next week, I'll take a video (pan across the entire scene) and try posting that...stay tuned.
