School year coming to an end

Our busy school year is coming to an end...and yet this month is the busiest of all. Proms, class trips, exams, art show, graduation on June 5, parties, and bon voyage back to Italy. Tonight Giulia is going to Domenico's prom, then in 2 weeks has her own.

I took Giulia shopping for prom shoes last week. We went to Wrentham Premium Outlet where they have 24 shoe stores. In 90% of the shoes were leisure, outdoor, athletic shoes, only few dressy ones. Of the dressy ones, 90% had spikes...she wanted flats. We found 2 pair in one shop @ $168 each...so we went to Walmart where she found what she wanted for $9. She says that she just saved her father $159. That will make him happy.

Her gown is lovely... and the price was perfect (free). A friend (actually the first friend she had here in Mendon) gave her her own last year's prom gown, saying that she won't be wearing it again. It fits Giulia to a 'tee'...I didn't have to take in one stitch.
Today, hair dresser appointment at 2:30, pictures at 4, limo pick-up at 4;30, prom from 5:30-10:30. Tomorrow....sleep.
After Giulia leaves for her prom, we head out ourselves for Adriana's school end-of-year play. She'll stay overnight with us, play with neighbors tomorrow, then head back home for overnight with her good friend, Jackie. She just won a ribbon at an art show of her own this week, and spends at least 3 days a week at swim team practice. She'll be putting all of this to good use as summer pool days approach.
